Your Joking right???? Paul in collage still..... Be a long time before he could fuel that baby up....

And there nothing wrong with the MINI...... They are a cracking car with great drive feel and loads of charm. They have their place in the car world. Not as a replacement for the origanal mini but lets face it what car ever could??????
The Mini could never be replaced its too individual so putting the MINI up against it would be unfair. I totally agreed with Tom Heaney of Irish Vintage Scene when he wrote something simular to my thoughts on the matter in the 2nd part of the Mini 50 special. However when u put the MINI up against some of its real rivals.... Smart plus4, New Beetle, Citroen C3 Plurial, Opel Tigra and other 'funky' cars currently on the market i think it really holds its own. And now the fact that BMW have the MINI Diesel it makes it even more appealing to a larger customer base. If you don't like the MINI i ask you to tell me what it is you don't like about it? I was once one of the MINI haters but after using one as a daily driver for a week i realised the statment 'its not a real mini' is not a reason to hate it. The MINI is not trying to be an origanal mini it is a modern car that has some cool funky characteristics from the origanal mini giving it a retro feel. Couple that with the great driving feel and you've got a winner.....

Not taking a dig at anyone there. Just putting forth my view and asking that anyone who has negitive feelings for the MINI but has yet to have the pleasure of driving one try to get to have a go and see if your opinion changes as mine did. :)

I agree with garret's comments, and would like to add, when the BINI was launched it was pricey, and a bit of a must be seen in one car. A few years on, it is holding its own and given the second hand market there is one within most price ranges.

Like you said Gareth my personal opinion, but the only retro feel to the BINI is that the clock is in the middle of the dash like the MK1's. I think that to others the Mini could be a nice car and I hear people saying that its nice to drive and are very surprised when they realise that but its made by BMW and everything is modern. I know the Mini can not be held on to forever but BMW should not have gotten there hands on it and made such a balls of one of the biggest classics in the world. If you seen a row of BINI's you just want to start throwing petrol bombs at them were if you were to see a row of Minis you would stop what your doing a smile and stare. BINI's are only ever driven by amazing looking blondes as myself and Billy discused on the MtM, old men half way through a mid life crisis ( Gareth  ), socker moms who left there Range Rover at home and/or gay hair dressers!

Cars like the Mini. Bettle, Fiat 500 and the likes should have been left be.

And I'l upload the pictures of the BINI that I found in Mustads garage the other week!

I agree its a different car and shouldnt be compared, its not the original mini and was never meant to be.

But I drove one and thought it was a great drive and as a car I thought it was great - would I personally buy one - No, but that doesnt mean I dont like it.

I think BMW done a great job. Lets face it they could have made a really terrible car - ok some of you think they did  .

Mini, Fiat 500, Beetle etc.... If something works they will always try to bring them back. If they work when they bring them back is a different story.

Isn't that progression? Now maybe im wrong as im only new to Mini's but I'm sure there is people who think that Rover mini's aren't "real" only Austin ones are.

Some people with Mk1 GTi's think anything after is not a "real" GTi - should they call a car something different every time a new model comes out?

Snobs exist everywhere...

They bitched when Rover RE-released the Cooper in the 90s. Apparantley it wasnt good enough. Fact is it just let more people enjoy having a cooper, than these closed shop of loopers who kept their mk1, mk2, mk3 coopers in heated garages and never using them. Most people who as gareth pointed out, are quick to moan about something they have never tried. They are also jealous that the new MINI is extremely popular and classless(like another certain car).

How anybody can call a new cooper S shite is beyond me. They are great little cars, I did my test in one, yes they are the opposite to the classic, but the thing wouldnt have sold with a -5 star NCAP.
