Buddy,

Those potholes are now filled in with two great lumps of tarmac. It looks like a very quick repair job was done. I expect you weren't the only car that was damaged by them.

All cars over 30 should at least have to be inspected every year. There are some doodoo heaps going around under the guise of "classic".

Id accept it if the halved the prices of the tests, but they didnt. Its just pure greed, a money spinner. Im just pissed off that Ive to fecking flute around with the engine every year, effictivley making it run like doodoo to pass the test. Ironic.

The yearly NCT is only a proposal at the moment but I'm sure there will be changes to strangle more money out of the motorist,it would be far more prudent to do it on milage but this could prove very hard to work.

they (the govt?) are doing it again: taking a good idea like the NCT then screwing it up by turning it into a revenue raising measure. they did it before with the penalty points, VRT, and even road tax, if you go back far enough. Tax should be on usage only.

Petrol Is up. Insurance is up. VRT is up. NCT is up. were getting royally fucked. They should halve the price to show it isnt a scam.

for 3,5k Id want Fecking hand polished scandium or somthing!

Could they be trying to make the car a economic write off???

Sure what would 3,5K get ya? new subframe, fancy brakes, and a serious upgrade on the engine!

Id love to know what that garage is smoking!

to be honest, damage of 3.5k on a mini would probably result in the insurance writing it off. As merlin posted above, it looks from the photo like a bottom ball joint failure, possibly damage to the tyre and rim also *perhaps* cv joint popped out!
at €3.500 id expect to see a cracked gearbox casing, possibly a bent front subframe, deformed mounting points?
what does the garage say?

any word back from the co. council?
