A guy has offered me an mpi engine from a 98 Cooper with 32000 miles, he says it comes with everything to fit straight in (i.e. loom, ecu, etc.) Whats it worth? And will it just bolt onto Studs sub-frame? (95' jap import spi)

Well your one is a carb engine (I think they had the carb engine till late 94, early 95, I think!) After that they bought out the SPI (Single Point Injection) engine (which was up to 97, once again I think!) and last was the MPI (Muilti Point Injection) engine which was used in all of the later Mini like the Sportspack's.

Ah I see, I was thinking off changing to carb and Kenny has one that he isn't needing but then he told me about the N.C.T which is another factor I never thought of, I'l ask him if he has the fob and that as someone else may want it?

you can't change them straight to carb as thy have no place for a dizy so you would also have to fit mapped ignition
