Modifications: Mk1: 998 with flat top slipper pistons, 286 cam, 12G940 head 11:1 compression twin inch and a half SU's 5 speed gearbox. Mk3 998 automatic no mods, 72Van is a pile of rust, , Racer is being built but has the works and the 2000 rover cooper needs an engine again :(

Unless your putting a motor cycle engine in you wont be saving any weight, the Honda, starlet, vauxhall and the k series conversions all add between 200 and 350kg to a mini, the only motorcycle engine the works out the same weight as the a sreies is the R1 but when you fit the diff and extra suport structors to fit one to a mini it works out 20Kgs more, thats one of the reasons well sorted A series minis normal kill these engine transplant minis, there is a lot more to than that but just one of the points
regards,
Paul.

good guess kenneth... charade turbo :D
its sohc 993cc 3 cylinder carb turbo, standard 69bhp... one im gettin is a bit modified so should be 69+ which would do me rightly, not looking for anything TOO fast as i know rightly id kill meself
just sumn different really.. wish it was the dohc version which had the highest standard factoy bhp for a sub 1000cc engine, being 99bhp.... apparantly a very tunable engine
