What Minis have you?: 60 Austin Se7en
61 van,68 MKII,
75 Clubman estate,
80 1275GT
91 RSP Cooper

Just looking at different 7.5"/7.9" 4 pot calipers from different suppliers namely MiniSpares,MiniSport and KAD and there is a big difference in price but my questions are 1.Is there a big difference between 7.5" and 7.9" as regards stopping power bearing in mind that the system I will be using will have front/rear adjustable bias and solid discs.2.Are the KAD better than the Mini suppliers own brand.

What Minis have you?: Mk1 Austin Mini,Mk3 Layland Mini,72Van,81 Clubman Estate, 87 Race carand a 2000 Rover Cooper.
Modifications: Mk1: 998 with flat top slipper pistons, 286 cam, 12G940 head 11:1 compression twin inch and a half SU's 5 speed gearbox. Mk3 998 automatic no mods, 72Van is a pile of rust, , Racer is being built but has the works and the 2000 rover cooper needs an engine again :(

IMHO Mini spares 7.9 vented, I have fitted all three types the Mini Sports ones are just junk and unsafe IMO,

there is No difference in the braking effort given by the KAD's over the Mini Spares,

Its also interesting to note None of the Miglia cars in the UK run KAD they all run Mini spars or WillWood,

If you're going to the trouble of getting 4-pots, make sure you run vented discs...not solid ones!

sorry to steal the thread but i'm looking for info on 4 pots aswell, i have metro turbo ones for my mini, would anybody recommend dimpled and grooved discs??

I wouldn't think you'd need those on a road car, standard vented should be fine.

Will vented disc increase the track width and if so by how much.

No im almost certin they dont but if they at most it will be by no more than 1 1/2 as the disk are 3/4"
