Dear Members,

I hope you are all well and are enjoying your year with your mini. As I am sure by now you are all aware, in May of this year the IMOC were successful in securing the International Mini Meeting in 2017. This is one of the most exciting undertakings the Club has taken on in many years and hopefully we will do justice to the 1997 IMM event which is still talked about today.

I have put this newsletter together to give all members an insight into the work that is going on in the background. This will be updated every couple of months, more often as the event draws near.
Earlier this year, we had a great response from members to help out in creating our promotional video. This was fantastically well received at the presentation in Lithuania. From this it was set about to form an organising committee and the event company, "International Mini Meeting 2017 Ltd.". Currently we are still looking for a Treasurer and a Secretary for the event. If any Club members are interested in these positions, please contact me as soon as possible. These are key positions to ensuring the success of the event so all enquiries are very welcome.

The committee to date consists of:
Joe Whyte – Event Manager
Aidan Mc Grath – Entertainment and Activities Manager
Joe Conboy – Site Manager
Darren Hutchinson – Facilities Manager
John Paul Scallen – Social Media
Martin Murphy – Sunday Show Manager

Progress with the event has been steady, although restricted, as it took some time to get the company set up. To date the relevant people have met with Piltown GAA Club, the Iverk Committee and have agreed on the event going forward.
As well as this we have had a number of different suppliers come and meet with us at the site and they have expressed a lot of positivity for the venue.
The next number of months should see us committing to suppliers such as caterers, indoor venues, entertainment etc. and company accounts will be created accordingly.
The response, so far, from Club Members has been very supportive and certainly excitement is building. The running of IMM2017 requires the input of all members of the Club and sees us extend the hand for help leading up to, during and after the event . If Club Members have any ideas or suggestions, that they feel could be relevant to the success of the IMM Event please send them to Imm2017suggestions@gmail.com .

Looking forward to seeing you all in the future

Kind regards
Joe Whyte
