hi guys and gals,
just wondering how many mini turbo's are on the forum here, i'm looking for advise on a few parts, anyone who has experience building one advise would be greatly appreciated,
my plan is to build a 1275 turbo, have metro turbo pistons, cam, rockers, 1275gt block and 12g940 head, turbo kit is a T3/T4 hybrid
i,m thinking of getting, isky cam followers, ARP headbolts, rimflo valves and double valve springs.
i'm going to be running 20v corolla throttle bodies(not sure size) on custom inlet manifold and custom plenum chamber,
can anybody tell me if it will work??
thanks
kenny
P.S. i like hardship so thats not a problem!!

Hi Kenneth
Mine is a standard metro unit , never got around to modifying it althought I'm hoping to fit megajolt before the IMM. If you can get your hands on a turbo head they have better cooling. I think Stobart might be selling one.

Hi Kenneth,
Majority of guys (myself and woody included) run the Turbo SU carb from the metro, there is no need to change unless you are goping down the EFI/injection route (which I think you might be looking into from your original post) but with some changes to the needle guys in the uk have run them up and over 300bhp  so there more than up to the job
I have a spare turbo head but its an avonbar stage 3 so might not suit what your looking for
Markie

With respect to the Custard Bullet - I'm pretty sure that Barry Rabbit's Type-R with it's standard engine goes around Mondello faster!

Yeah but the engine block is about the only thing thats standard, its lightened, it has racing intake, exhaust, ECU , race diff & running gear and on slicks... I think Paul the same as myself were refferring to a road going standard type R which would be nowhere as quick as Barry's DC2!

Well put Mark,

Neil Barry car is hardly your average Teenagers Typer R the short motor in his car cost more to build than Lloyds complete New car.

I am also sure there is at least 3 cars over on Turbo Minis which would mince Barry's car given half the chance.
